When Matt was about 8 months old I cam across one of those Hotwheels battery powered Jeeps at a garage sale. It had no batteries, so I haggled the lady down to $10, figuring I could get batteries later. Turns out the batteries for those things are a LOT more $ than I though, so it's been sitting in the garage, where Matt uses it to pretend drive.
Last week Jamie found a person on craigslist selling a Barbie Jeep with new batteries. It was cheap enough that we decided to get it. Now, we've got one set of batteries and two jeeps, but Matt likes to drive them both.
He's working on his driving, but coordinating the feet and hands isn't going to well for the fine maneuvering. I'm not looking forward to 13years from now after this last week....
With his driving ability rivaling that of a blue haired 90 year old lady, he is of course required to wear a helmet.

Waiting for Baby sister!
All 3 of us are anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby sister, who is expected any day now! Hard to believe it's been 9 months already! Matt and I have been hard at work getting the house ready both for baby sister and for winter, which sadly seems to be approach rapidly.
We did manage to have a pretty good time during the few short weeks of warm weather we got in the Seattle area this year.

Some days are rougher than others. One day I came home from work and found this.
Before Ned had to go back to Texas we managed to get our boat out on Lake Washington. Matt had a good time getting to drive the boat.
Jamie had a baby shower for Baby Sister one Saturday, so Matt and I met up with Drew, Ben and Ty at the park for a few hours.
Swingin'
Snack Time!
Matt's started to get very into building stuff. Crinkles are a favorite, as are blocks and Wedge-it's.
We got a new electric leafblower to make an attempt at keeping the back deck (and therefore the house) pine tree debris free. Matt's decided this leafblower is his.
During some of the hottest weather we managed to get some time to play in the splat mat.
Celebrating chocolate chip pancakes!
This is the Mr. Rogers face. He LOVES Mr. Rogers.
At the Fair with Grandma, GranDan and Mommy.
Pumping
Grinding Grain
Matt's usual favorite, the pony rides. You can see he doesn't enjoy this at all...
On the roller coaster with grandma.
One of the Mr. Rogers episodes is about pottery. Matt was so enthralled that we got out the pottery wheel, blew the dust off and made some pots.
It's a dirty job.
Trevor and Marie came over one day and brought Matt some trains, so we got out his train set finally. That weekend I'd say he spent 6-7hours playing with the trains. For a 2 year old that kind of attention span with 1 toy is amazing. It now has a permanent place in the living room.
Making Pet Rocks and playing with the dumptruck.
Enjoying the new pool with Mommy last weekend.
Making cookies!
Judging from Jamie's belly, the next update will be on the happenings of 2 kids, not just 1!
