Lily has learned to play peek a boo all by herself, and Matt's gotten good enough at glider biking to take it offroad!

4th of July and More

Well, Summer in the PNW has finally arrived, and shockingly it happened before July 5th for once!  Lily continues to grow at a staggering pace, she's now got 4 teeth, crawls like a crazy baby, climbs up on furniture, and in general wrecks havoc on her brothers nice orderly life.  At least now she's getting beg enough that the two of them can play together a little, but I'm betting it's not going to be long before she develops the use of the word "NO!".

Cuddling the fat cat, havin' a snack

Dinner with Jewsbury's. Clearly Matt had no fun at all.

Playing with care in the basement. Lily tried to grab the car when it came around.

Had a leak in the toilet gasket and had to replace it.  Matt was "helping". Hold the flashlight.

Contact paper art project.  Looking good!

 "Where's my food?"

 "Oh, yeah, the good stuff!"
"What do you mean there's no more?"

Matt's getting really good at riding his glider bike.  Going to have to put the pedals back on it soon.

Even though he's getting REALLY good at glider biking now, Matt still enjoys a little Jeepin'.

 Playing in the Kitchen.

No idea why, but Lily LOVES this little plastic carrot.

See what I mean?

For 4th of July we went down to the property for 3 days.  We had a ton of fun, fireworks, good food, and good company from the neighbors. Unfortunately since it was a mid-week 4th, Auntie and Uncle couldn't join us, and it wound up just being the 4 of us and GranDan.

We brought the inflatable boat down so we could do a little crabbing and cruising around, Matt had a blast in the little boat.  Every time he got up from a nap, he wanted to take the boat out again.  We even managed to get Jamie to go out with Matt and I, leaving Lily behind for some time with GranDan.  Lily seemed fine with this, until she saw the 3 of us out in the boat without her.  1/4 mile away with the engine running, and we could STILL hear her squaks of protest at having been left behind.
 Catching Parachutes.

 Snakes!

Some new friends from next door.

Lily snacking on Humus and watching the fireworks.

We must have gone through half a dozen boxes of sparklers.

 Check out those chompers!

The neighbors getting ready for dark.  They don't mess around.

A mid wek 4th made for a more tame show down at the community beach.  (Not necessarily a bad thing) Yes that is an old ladder with fireworks strapped to it.

The 4th is a blast down there, but both years so far, the morning of the 5th comes close.  So quiet and peaceful.

 Holding onto little sister.

Lily took any opportunity she could to attack the clover heads.  Pretty sure at least one went down the hatch.

Baby and blue sky.

Matt and Jamie taking a walk at low tide.

Lily having some fun with GranDan.

 Baby girl is all done.

Kids playing crab fishermen.

Auntie and Uncle came down to play with the kids last weekend so I could get some things done while Jamie was out.  Auntie came up with the idea of boating in the pool.   After 1.5 hours of playing with Auntie and Uncle, both kids immediately passed out after lunch. Thanks guys!
 Turtle boat!

Yesterday we took a little adventure up to Tolt McDonald park and Remlinger farms.
Crossing the bridge with a sleeping Lily.

"I'm walking in the middle so I don't fall through the cracks!"

 Playing in the river.

 Look who finally woke up!

 Dropping rocks into the river.

Eating ice cubes waiting for lunch.

Lily was using the straw like a horn, using it to make noise. Muscial future maybe?

 After nap wagon rides!

How did both of them get on one side?

Last nigt getting Matt out of the tub we had a little exchange that I thought Virnig family members and those who know GranDan would appreciate.

Matt: "Grandma needs a new GranDan."
Me: "Oh really, why is that?" (I get told once a week that he's getting a new daddy who will let him do whatever it is that I'm not letting him do, so this wasn't all that shocking.)
Matt: "Because GranDan's smiler is broked.  It's just broked so she needs a new GranDan."
I guess GranDan needs to work on smiling a little more.

That's all for now, hope everyone's been enjoying the Summer weather!
