Summer Time!

What more is there to say?  It's summer time and it's hot out.  (Finally!) The shaded back deck has been great for a play area, splashing in buckets and playing with the hose.

The squirt bottle provides a lot of entertainment.  He's finally learned to point it away from himself when squirting.

Drew and I went and got some crab one Saturday and we had a crab feed on the back deck with us and Drew and Kate with Ben and Ty.  Lots of summer time fun.

Matt decided Ben looked like he needed a hug.  Ben wasn't so sure.

He thought he could escape hugs by going to the couch.  He was wrong.

In preperation for the San Juans trip (more on this later) Matt and I went over to borrow the inflatable boat from GranDan and get it fixed up.  Matt was very interested in helping to "fix it" the "rubber boat". GranDan was dubious about Matt's rubber boat fixing abilities.

See, we add a bracket here to stiffen the transom.

No, I told you, we need 3/8 bolts back here, not 1/2 inch!

This hole is way to big, I can poke the screwdriver all the way through!

The cats have been relatively safe until lately.  Chicken is, unfortunately, too stupid to just run away, so he get the brunt of it.  We did get Matt some cat toys so he can play with the cats, rather than just chase them and try to squeeze them in the great Virnig tradition of Cat Bagpipes.

Matt's had a sinus infection for the last week or so, and not really been himself.  Yesterday Matt had a fun filled day with Grandma, and when we brought him home he went bonkers.  I guess he's feeling better....

Late 4th of July and other stuff

So it's been to long, I don't have a good narrative for this one, the picture captions will have to tell the story.

For all of you who thought he was going to follow the family tradition of engineering, sorry, he's destined to go into the plumbing field.

It's good to play outside, even when it's raining, especially when you can wear Daddy's shoes.

3rd time's the charm?

Ok, this is the third time that I have sat down to do a blog post, hoping for success this time. 

As Matt will now tell you, he's getting "Big!"

Escape from Tub Time!

"I don't know what you mean, clearly these are MY shoes."

He's big enough to do the Aquarium touch tanks.

He's also become quiet the climber.

Which has it's downsides.  At least he "helped" me lower the crib after climbing out of it.

We decided it was time to put a railing on the back deck, so Matt had a big outdoor playpen.  Of course Matt had to help.

Time to play!

We made it to Cle Elum with the Virnig clan for some quad riding.  It wasn't real warm over there yet.

Even though he's "Big" he does sometimes, rarely, want some Daddy cuddles.

He knows where the raisins are, gotta keep an eye on him or he'll eat the whole bag.

Most of the time Matt really likes fruit. Strawberries ("Straws") are a favorite.

This weekend it was time for his summer cut.  Baby Buzz cut.

After that he decided the table needed "Fixin" Notice the marker used as a "tool".

Lastly, rockin' the Tie Dye in honor of cousin Mary's bone marrow transplant today.   Go cord cells!
