Noises

Matthew is adding to his list of verbalizations. Besides the random "Ahhhhh", and "Gggggg" he has managed to put together the two to get "Ahhh Gggggg" and a few other assorted noises. He has also started making the occasional noise that sounds very close to a laugh, but isn't quite there.

The increase in drool production lately has been rather impressive. Note the drool on the shirt.


He's also finally big enough to fit in the Ergo Baby carrier! The Moby is nice, but this is easier to use,

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everybody. Matthew decided it would be a good day to show some pride in his Irish heritage.


Last Friday Matthew had his two month check-up. Monday he had his specialty snarfy checkup and was declared healthy.

The Stats -
Weight - 14lbs 4oz
Length - 25inches
Number of shots - 3
Volume of crying (1-10) - 9.5

He survived it well and we learned he likes the flavor if infant Tylenol.
At the end of the day he got to nap on Mom, which is the important thing.


Matthew is continuing to learn to play with toys, and to try and figure out how to coordinate his appendages. He's also learning how to vocalize, which is exciting. Soon he'll learn to talk as much as the rest of my relatives though, then we'll just be wishing he'd be quiet.

Every once in a while Matthew decides he's had enough of the Papparazzi again.


Matthew was taking up a little too much room in our bed, so he got to graduate to the "side car" bed. As with most Virnig projects, it's overbuilt. 3/4" plywood to hold the 15lb kid. He likes it and seems to sleep better in it.




I have been practicing my ventriloquism techniques.


At the end of the day, sometimes he's just had enough.


And it's always a good day to cuddle with Craig.

Overalls are Great!

Matthew had his first experience with overalls last week.

We're still working on playing with toys and learning to sleep in the crib.


Jamie has been spending some time working on getting him to keep his head up and track.


I've been working on toughening him up, here's a little learning to fly.


Jamie finally broke out the bearsuit that actually fits (6month size) and he's much happier than when we tried to cram him in the newborn one.

Sick

Well, I've been sick, luckily Jamie and Matthew have managed to avoid it so far. Unfortunately for me, this means that I'm banned from Matthew contact. I can still take pictures though.

Matthew continues to be a very happy baby.







He's learning to play with toys.

Before I got sick, Matthew spent some time working on the computer with me.


Sometimes it's good to just chill on the couch for a bit.

Carseats suck!

If Matthew could talk already, I think that's what he'd be saying. He generally makes it about 15 minutes in the seat before losing his mind. Sometimes he can go longer if well rested and his belly is full. This is before he gets upset.





Occasionally he does fall asleep in the seat.



We have gotten to see some family in the last week or so, here's some random family pics -









The giraffe outfit is pretty cute, I think it a 6 monther. It lasted about a half hour before falling victim to a blowout.



As usual Matthew's been spending most of his time just hangin' with Mom. He starting to like getting tummy time and laying on his back looking at toys.



On Sunday Matthew got his first beer brewing lesson while Jamie was cleaning the basement.



Later he spent some time chillin with Dad watching some TV. (I think I need a haircut)


Lastly, you gotta love the feet.

Gettin' bigger

Seems that everyday that goes by Matthew looks more like a baby, less like a newborn. He's been working a lot at holding his head up. He really like to stand on your lap an look at you.





You know he's thinking "There's food in there!"


Jamie got a new sling for totting him around. He seems to like it.







Hats however, not so much.


He's getting better at being put down in his crib, but still HATES the carseat. In general he's a pretty happy baby though.







He has developed a new favorite sitting position.



But he still has his favorite spot to sleep.
